in a darkened Washington Convention Center in the wake of rising black unemployment to “put on their marching shoes and follow him in the battle for jobs and opportunities.” He reportedly told the blacks to stop complaining. He said to them: “Shake it off;
stop complaining, stop grumbling, stop crying. Just keep pressing on. The future rewards those who press on.” These are timely words of comfort and wisdom for any discouraged soul. Throwing on the towel (giving in and giving up) won’t get you there. Most times in life we get things wrong before we eventually get them right. So, getting things wrong, or not being able to make it the first or second time, or even the third time does not mean you won’t make it at all. Don’t look at the obstacles; don’t be like 10 discouraged spies. Don’t you ever say, “l am not able.” Rather, like Joshua and Caleb, say to yourself, “l am well able to overcome it” let the words of the American President ring in your ears and heart: “The future rewards those who press on.” HOLD ON!! Get up and fight/try one more time!! Peace!
